Recognition reflects more than a decade of outpatient surgical innovation, including the first robotic urologic surgery performed in an ambulatory surgery center in the United States
ATLANTA, GA / ACCESS Newswire / May 6, 2026 / Advanced Urology today announced that its Alpharetta ambulatory surgery center has been named among the 2026 Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers by U.S. News & World Report, a recognition that places the facility in the top tier of outpatient surgical centers nationwide.
The 2026 ratings, released by U.S. News in March, evaluated more than 4,400 ambulatory surgery centers across the country and recognized 911 facilities, or roughly 21 percent, as Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers. The ratings are built on risk-adjusted outcome measures including complication rates, unplanned hospital admissions, and emergency department visits following outpatient procedures, with separate evaluations across four specialty areas including Urology.
The recognition is the latest validation of a clinical model that Advanced Urology has spent more than a decade refining under the leadership of founder and president Dr. Jitesh Patel. The Alpharetta facility was the site of the first robotic urologic surgery performed in an ambulatory surgery center in the United States, a milestone that has since helped reshape how complex urologic procedures are delivered across the country.
“This recognition belongs to every clinician, nurse, and team member who walks through the doors of our Alpharetta center,” said Dr. Jitesh Patel, founder and president of Advanced Urology. “When we performed the first outpatient robotic urologic surgery in an ASC in this country, we were determined to give patients a better experience and better outcomes than the hospital model allowed for the procedures we specialize in. Better outcomes, faster recovery, lower cost, and the dignity of going home to sleep in their own bed. A decade later, the data continues to prove that conviction was right, and being named one of the best ambulatory surgery centers in the nation by U.S. News tells us our team is delivering on that promise every single day.”
The Alpharetta center serves as a flagship for Advanced Urology’s outpatient surgical platform, equipped with the da Vinci X robotic surgical system and supporting a high volume of robotic urologic cases, focal therapy procedures, and advanced oncology interventions. The facility is one of six AAAHC accredited ambulatory surgery centers operated by Advanced Urology across metro Atlanta, all built on integrated clinical pathways that connect surgery with imaging, laboratory, pathology, and follow-up care under one coordinated model.
The U.S. News recognition follows a series of expansion and clinical milestones for the practice, including the recent opening of a new clinical location in Dallas, Georgia and the planned opening of a fourteenth clinic in Oakwood, Georgia later this year, alongside continued growth in the practice’s robotic surgical volume.
