Brian Pigg’s Epic Fantasy “The Final Sundering” Receives the Literary Titan Book Award

United States – September 15, 2026 – Brian Pigg’s Metamorphosis by Decree: The Final Sundering, the sweeping conclusion to the Metamorphosis by Decree fantasy series, has received the Literary Titan Book Award. The honor recognizes a novel that combines expansive worldbuilding, compelling characters, and a powerful exploration of freedom, sacrifice, and the courage to challenge established systems.

In The Final Sundering, the world is breaking under the influence of ancient forces that have shaped kingdoms, fueled conflict, and kept humanity constrained for generations. Their control is threatened when ordinary people refuse to accept the roles chosen for them.

A reluctant general struggles to preserve a fragile new society. A cursed warrior carries a sword that offers immense power while taking more of her with every battle. A scarred knight wields a weapon that has destroyed every man before him, relying on his determination not to become what the weapon demands.

Their paths converge across deserts, uncharted seas, and mountains older than memory. Warriors and witches, pirates and princes, dragons and outcasts are drawn into a reckoning thousands of years in the making.

Literary Titan praised the novel as “a sprawling fantasy adventure built around war, family, ancient mysteries, and a group of characters who keep discovering that their world is much stranger than they were taught.” The review highlights Pigg’s ability to give an enormous mythology a human scale through conversational dialogue, personal relationships, and characters confronting ordinary concerns amid extraordinary events.

At the heart of the novel is the tension between power and choice. Its characters must decide whether they will be controlled by ancient weapons, inherited traditions, religious authority, and rigid social hierarchies, or build communities founded on dignity, acceptance, and freedom.

Pigg hopes the story encourages readers to recognize their own ability to create change.

“We don’t have to wait for heroes,” Pigg said. “We can be that hero. Struggle is as real as dreams; contending with one can bring the other, and I believe anyone can do it.”

The Literary Titan review also commends the novel’s grounded approach to leadership and community. Its characters earn loyalty not through titles, but by creating a place where people once rejected by society can belong. Even after battles, monsters, magic, and world-changing revelations, the story remains focused on people seeking a home and determining what kind of future they want to build together.
